Packing tips
In
2009, 1 in 250 checked bags went missing.
On our 2009 trip to Bahamas about half of us arrived home without our
luggage. Here are some packing tips to help you in case of lost luggage:
1.
Tag you bag properly on the outside . Put the two name tags we provide on the
outside of each piece of luggage.
Tie the rainbow ribbons on the
handles of your bags as well for easy recognition by our group.
2.
Label your baggage inside: Duct tape
a card with your name address, cell phone and travel plans on the inside lid of
you bag.
3. Keep
your bag check that the airline gives you when you check your bag.
4. Pack
two sets underwear and one t-shirt in your carryon bag in case your checked bag
is delayed/lost. (We had about 9 bags delayed last year on the trip home)
5. Keep
a list of what is in your bag. If it gets lost you will need to give the
airline this list.
Do
not put anything valuable in your checked bags. If the airline looses your
luggage they will not reimburse you for lost; camera equipment, jewelry,
computers, cash (whether checked or carry-on), antiques, artwork, books and
documents, china, videos, optical equipment or any other similar items.
Passengers should carry these items with them in their carryon bag(s). If it is
something you wouldn’t want to lose then take it on the plane with you.
